Beyond Biosafety and Public Health: Addressing Concerns of Use and  Morality in US / European Acceptance of Genetically Modified Food

Attendees interested in the 3rd key topic (Ethical Methods) to be addressed at the 2001 European Congress on Agricultural and Food Ethics are especially encouraged to participate in a Satellite Meeting to be held immediately following the Congress.

The workshop is open to all EurSafe Congress attendees. While Congress Attendees pay no additional fee for participation in this meeting, they  must register in advance. The workshop will be coordinated by Tarla Rai Peterson, Texas A&M University and Sigrid Sterckx, Ghent University.

Date:  7 October 2001

Time:  9:00-13:00, followed by luncheon

Place: University of Florence, information on exact location will be provided to those who register. It also will be available at the Congress Registration Site.

Format: The meeting will follow a workshop format, similar to that of the workshop titled EU and US Arguments Regarding Environmental & Human Health Risks Associated with Genetically Modified Foods (held in conjunction with the 2000 Congress in Copenhagen).
