FOUNDING THE SOCIETY

EurSafe was established in 1999 by a five member Founding Board.  In order to promote the Society and its activities, the first EurSafe Congress was held in Wageningen, The Netherlands, in March 1999. At this meeting the first draft of the Society’s constitution was proposed.  The final version of the statutes, drafted in line with Dutch legislation, was approved by members at the General Meeting of the Second Congress in Copenhagen and has recently (November 2000) been officially formalised by the Dutch Notary Office.

The members of the Founding Board resigned at the first General Assembly and all those wishing to retain their posts were successfully re-elected to the Executive Committee.
